Speak.
We start with a real topic, situation, or piece of work. No script. No performance. Just the way you actually explain, respond, and think aloud.
How it works
You already speak English. Phatic helps you see what happens when you have to explain, respond, disagree, or think aloud, then makes the next attempt sharper.
Bring something worth talking about.
Your work. A current idea. An article. A difficult conversation. The subject gives us real, unprepared speech to work with.
We start with a real topic, situation, or piece of work. No script. No performance. Just the way you actually explain, respond, and think aloud.
I listen for what is getting in the way: language, structure, specificity, tone, or the amount of work your listener has to do.
When something matters, we slow down. You might answer again, shorten the point, add an example, or adapt it for a different audience.
Corrections, alternatives, vocabulary, and examples go into your shared document. The next session builds on what appeared in this one.
Not just grammar
Your English can be correct and still leave the listener doing too much work. We look at directness, structure, specificity, audience, and tone, alongside grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and intonation when they matter.
Broad
“We need to improve the process.”
Clear
“The handoff fails because ownership is unclear. I would assign one person to approve the final change.”
It's all in the doc.
Every correction, explained.
Feedback is added while we speak, so you leave with the correction, the reason, and a useful alternative in context. Where it helps, transcript review can surface repeated patterns and a small number of priorities for what comes next.
Speak as well as you think.
